Lyrics

In whispers of dawn the breath of life came
Six days of wonder earth called by name
Mountains and rivers stars set to dance
In the hand of the Maker the world's great expanse
O the light of the first morn so pure so bright
All of creation bathed in His might
But shadows did stir where none should tread
A covenant broken a darkness spread
The Watchers descended from heavenly skies
Hearts bound by lust eyes full of lies
With sons of the earth they mingled their seed
And giants were born to consume and to lead
O the earth groaned beneath their reign
Flesh became corrupted bound by chain
From light to dark from life to pain
The beauty of Eden turned to stain
Angels wept and the stars dimmed their light
As heaven watched the fall of night
What once was good lay broken and scarred
The price of rebellion too deep too hard
O the light of creation fading fast
The cries of the faithful echoes of the past
But in the ashes a spark remains—
The promise of hope through all the chains
In the beginning it wasn't always this way
A world of light now shadowed by decay
In the beginning it wasn't always this way
A world of light now shadowed by decay
